BIOGRAPHICAL:

NAME:  Ross Shade; BORN: 1927 in Los Angeles, CA.
MILITARY SERVICE:  U.S. Navy 1945-6 and 1950-1953
COLLEGE EDUCATION: U.C. Berkeley; B.S. and MBA 1950 and,
University of San Francisco Law School;  J.D. 1960

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY: 1953 (Big Eight) CPA firm and a major local firm. After graduating from law school started my own CPA practice in 1960. That practice was merged with and I became a partner of a major International CPA Firm in 1967. Resigned from that firm and started my own CPA firm 1975. (R. Shade & Co)  This continued until 1998 when it merged with a larger firm in order that I might retire from the accounting profession in 1990.

PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:  Prior to 1967 I managed the San Francisco office of the International CPA Firm. That office became one of the most profitable offices of the firm - before I resigned because of disagreements as to the direction the firm was taking in regard to MAS engagements. Besides tax and consulting for some of my personal clients, the practice of R. Shade & Co. was principally that of auditing.  Clients included large non-profit organizations, governmental agencies including programs of the California Department of Housing and Community Development, several of the largest affordable housing developers, two television broadcasters, and two architectural firms for the BART system and were the principal architects of several of the San Francisco's largest office buildings. R. Shade & Co had three partners and a ten person staff.

POST RETIREMENT ENGAGEMENTS:  Selling our home in Mill Valley and buying another in Auburn during the early stages of the economic slowdown starting with the Gulf War cost me about 20% of what was my net worth. I lost substantially more over the next few years by attempting to develop a company that developed and sell equipment, and then also assisting an entrepreneur that had managed to develop a new telephone switch and software that it was using to provide services for its own long distance telephone customers. [1]  After the experience of preparing a company to go public with a small business public offering I have maintained a façade I hope will attract another entrepreneur that has potential for which I can prepare the documents and supervise the preparation of meaningful financial statements necessary for a private placement and small business public offering.

[1]  I lost substantially more of my net worth when, after May 28, 2003 my wife was injured in an accident while recovering from an illness while in the care of a convalescent hospital. Sense 2004 my time has been almost completely taken up defending frivolous litigation when not caring for my wife. I have sued these parties for the damages they caused and the cases are now before the U.S. District Court and one case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.
